Definitions: Preliminary Valuation

In selected areas, IMAPP can include "Preliminary" Assessor Valuations during the period when the county assessor is finalizing their Valuations. These are designated with an asterisk ("") next to the tax year (eg. 2024* below)

These Preliminary Valuations are sourced form the county assessor and are based on their most recent expectations on the values that will be used for tax bills. While these are not "Finalized" and are subject to change, they are usually very close to where the Finalized Valuations will end up.

These Valuations can be available for a few months prior to Taxes being Officially Calculated. Providing this data allows users to get a more accurate idea of what the next years valuations/taxes will be. It also provides a more reliable basis for other IMAPP calculations, such as comparables and automated valuation estimates.
