Explained: Confidential Records

Some jurisdictions have laws that allow for certain individuals to have their personal information withheld on public records. The most common case of this is that some government agency, court, or police personnel can request to have their information withheld to protect themselves from potential risks. In other cases, private individuals, or court orders for protection, may request the same. We categorize these all as "Confidential Records"

We make every effort to follow government confidential requests whenever possible, even for records we receive from non-government agencies. When IMAPP marks a property as "Confidential" we will either remove the owners names from the record, or not show individual records for that property at all. The details may vary, depending on if the government agencies redact the entire property records in these case, or only redact the names on those records. Note: In these cases, you may see a notice that a property report is unavailable.

Confidential Records can influence the ability of a real estate professional to buy/sell/research properties, in that it can make it difficult to have comprehensive data for the property and area. We apologize for the inconvenience. When informed that these confidentiality request has been removed, we will confirm and reinstate these properties as quickly as possible to ensure our users have the most comprehensive data available.
