Definitions: Data Search Fields


The iMapp Search interface allows for a variety of customizable search fields of a variety of type. You may use default fields in your search, or you may select alternate fields from the drop down list containing each field name. These fields vary based on your user license and data availability from area to area. Some possible search fields may include:

Census Block Census Block - small, relatively permanent statistical subdivisions of a county used by US Census to tabulate population and other statistics
Census Tract Census Tract - relatively permanent statistical subdivisions of a county, containing multiple Census Blocks, used by US Census to tabulate population and other statistics
Covered Parking Type Covered Parking Type (garage/carport/etc)
Floor # (condo) The Floor number that the condo is on
Flood Zone FEMA assigned flood zone indicating likelihood of flooding
Foreclosure/Lis Pendens Indicates presence of active preforeclosure or foreclosure activity on a parcel
Lis Pendens Filed Indicates presence of a legal case regarding encumbrances on a parcel
Has Garage (Y/N) True/False field indicating if the property has a private (not shared) garage
Heat Type Description of the tye of heating system
Is Homesteaded (Y/N) True/False field indicating if the property has received a homestead exemption (indicating the owner may live there)
Legal Description Legal Description on file for the property, often including subdivision names, plat information, detailed legal measurements, etc.
Living Area The total building area that is considered living area, which includes enclosed and climate controlled area (excluding garages, open porches, etc)
Lot Size (sf) The total land square footage (in square feet) of land parcels of this property
Lot Size (acres) The total land square footage (in acres) of land parcels of this property
Mortgage - Amount Amount of principle taken out in a loan (primary mortgage)
Mortgage - Instrument Date The date a loan document was officially signed (primary mortgage)
Mortgage - Lender Name Original Lender Name (primary mortgage)
Mortgage - OR Book # Official Recorder office "book" designator of where the document was filed (primary mortgage)
Mortgage - OR Page # Official Recorder office "page" designator of where the document was filed (primary mortgage)
Mortgage - Recording Date The date a loan document was officially recorded with county officials (primary mortgage)
OR Book Official Recorder office "book" designator of where the most recent deed/ownership change document was filed
OR Page Official Recorder office "page" designator of where the most recent deed/ownership change document was filed

Owner Occupied True/False field indicating if the Owner seems to reside at the property (eg. Property is homesteaded or owner address is the same as property address)
Owner Is County Resident True/False field indicating if the Owner seems to reside in the same county as the property
Owner Is State Resident True/False field indicating if the Owner seems to reside in the same state as the property
Owner Is US Resident True/False field indicating if the Owner seems to reside in the USA (not another country)
Parcel ID # This is the main identifier number used by the local agencies in charge of valuation and tax collection, known as PID, Folio, Parcel ID, Account Number, Strap, etc
Parcel - Section 2 digit plat system based Section number (from 01 to 36)
Parcel - Township 2 digit plat system based Township number
Parcel - Range 2 digit plat system based Range number
Parcel - Block Block number as designated in official plat/parcel creation documentation
Parcel - Lot Lot number as designated in official plat/parcel creation documentation
Phone Number Phone Number (where available)
Has Pool (Y/N) True/False field indicating if the property has a private pool

Property Use Code (county) A county assigned code system, categorizing the Property Use (also used by assessment process)
Property Use Code (state) A state assigned code system, categorizing the Property Use (also used by assessment process)
REO / Bank Owned (Y/N) True/False field indicating a property owned by a lender or government agency, typically following an unsuccessful foreclosure auction.
Residential Development Common names for residential areas, including development names, neighborhoods, condominium names, apartment names, etc.
Sale Date The date the most recent deed/ownership change document was officially signed (or effective date of transfer)
Sale Deed Type The type of transfer document of the most recent deed/ownership (including Warranty Deed, Quit Claim Deed, etc)
Sale Price The price/amount of money paid with the most recent deed/ownership change (or nominal/minimal amount for non-sale transfers)
Sale Qualified The code designating if the most recent deed/ownership change was a full, market sale, and qualified for comparable property valuations (Q for qualified, U for Unqualified, M for Multi-parcel sale, etc).
Sale Recording Date The date the most recent deed/ownership change document was officially recorded with county officials.
Stories Number of Stories in the building (or highest story if multiple buildings)
Subdivision Name Subdivision Name assigned when a region was platted, that can be selected from a list of possible options. You can either select an established Subdivision Name by clicking on the alphabetic list icon and selecting from the list, or you can type your Subdivision name (or partial name) freeform.
Subdivision Code Subdivision code/number as designated in official plat/parcel creation documentation
Taxes Are Delinquent True/False field indicating a property has delinquent taxes
Total Area The total building area, including all enclosed areas (including garages, porches, etc)
Total Taxes Total of all taxes for the property for the year (including assessments)
Unoccupied Address True/False field indicating properties seem to be vacant. (Have buildings but not receiving common services of occupied buildings).
Value - Assessed The assessment value of a property available for factoring property taxes. Derived by local assessor/appraiser from the Market Value, while factoring in other policy limitations and incentives. (eg. Some states only allow the Assessed value for a property to increase by 3 perent per year, to limit increases in property taxes.
Value - Building An estimate of the free market value of the building on a property, as derived by local assessor/appraiser.
Value - Land An estimate of the free market value of the land of a property, as derived by local assessor/appraiser.
Value - Market An estimate of the free market value of the property, if put up for sale on the open market, as derived by local assessor/appraiser.
Value - Taxable The total taxable value of a property, used when setting property taxes. Derived from the Assessed Value and other exemptions which may limit the amount of the property's value applicable when calculating property taxes.
Waterfront Indiciator of whether a property is located on a navigable body of water. True/False of classifications of various possible waterfont types.
Year Built Year Built of the primary building
Code Violations - Count Code Violations - Count Number indicating the count of recent Code Violations under the current owner
Code Violations - Level Category indicating the most severe category of recent Code Violations under the current owner
Rental Properties - License Date Date the most recent Rental License was granted/applied/renewed
Rental Properties - Active License True/False field indicating whether the property has an active rental license
Rental Properties - License Expires Date the most recent Rental License is set to expire/require renewal
Rental Properties - Grade Categories of possible rating of rental by supervisory agency, where available. May indicate additional regulatory requirements on rental management
Rental Properties - Owner Name Owner Name associated with the property/rental license.
Rental Properties - Owner Type Owner Type Categories of possible ownership of rentals, indicating corporate ownership, non profit, etc.
Rental Properties - Short Term True/False field indicating whether the rental license specifies for short term rental only
Opportunity Zone Areas categorized as being eligible for federal income tax/capital gain tax credits for development or investment under tax code 1400Z
School Zone Default school assigned by school district based on established geographic area for the school(s)
MLS Listing Status Indicator of the most recent real estate listing for a property (based on data availabilty). This can be helpful when prospecting to filter out "Active" properties that are already for sale.
