Definitions: Map Layers
There are a variety of Map Layers available in the iMapp map interface. These layers may vary depending on region, account type, and license restrictions. Layers may not be available at all zoom levels.
Some possible map overlay layers include:
City Boundaries | City, Town or other Municipal borders |
County Boundaries | County/Parish/similar borders |
Zip Code Boundaries | USPS established Postal ZIP Codes |
Residential Developments | Common names for residential areas. There are not necessarily legal names or subdivision names, and may be what areas are commonly known as or marketed as. This can include development names, neighborhoods, condominium names, apartment names, etc. |
Opportunity Zone | Opportunity Zones are areas categorized as being eligible for federal income tax/capital gain tax credits for development or investment under tax code 1400Z. Consult a tax professional before investing. |
MLS Area | Many Real Estate Associations establish a map of various areas throughout their areas to allow for categorization/reference of listings by region neighborhood, etc. If we have access to those maps, the ares overlay may be available. |
Elementary School Attendance Zone | Many school districts establish zone-based assignment of schools based on the location of a home residence relative to the neighborhoods/regions they assign to each school. If the residence falls within a certain attendance zone any children living there may be assigned to the default Elementary school(s) for that attendance zone. Consult your school district for exceptions and details. |
Middle School Attendance Zone | Many school districts establish zone-based assignment of schools based on the location of a home residence relative to the neighborhoods/regions they assign to each school. If the residence falls within a certain attendance zone any children living there may be assigned to the default Middle school(s) for that attendance zone. Consult your school district for exceptions and details. |
High School Attendance Zone | Many school districts establish zone-based assignment of schools based on the location of a home residence relative to the neighborhoods/regions they assign to each school. If the residence falls within a certain attendance zone any children living there may be assigned to the default High school(s) for that attendance zone. Consult your school district for exceptions and details. |
Some possible map annotations include:
Tax Delinquent | Indicates properties that currently (or recently) are delinquent in payment of property taxes. |
Estimated Value | The estimated market valuation estimate of the property using proprietary algorithms. This calculation is made taking into account similar properties, in the region, in the recent history, as well as known information about the state of the property. |
Equity | Thematic layer indicating the difference between the "Estimated Value" above and our estimated Loan Balance is a current balance left for this property which is determined, which takes into account loan amount, mortgage rate and start date. Equity indicates a rough estimate of the amount of money that could be available if the property was sold and any loans are paid off. |
Vacant Properties | Thematic layer highlighting properties that have buildings but that seem to be sitting vacant at this time, based on analysis of the property and whether that property is receiving common services of occupied buildings. |
Code Violations | Thematic layer indicate the presence of Code Violations for the property. This layering includes only violations over the last few years and since the last sale. In general, the darker the coloring, the more violations or the more severe violations. |
Rental Properties/Lodging Licenses | Thematic layer indicate the presence of Current/Recent Rental licenses for the property (based on local or state licensing data). Rental licenses are including if they are actively licensed (not expired), or have been actively licensed in the preceding year. |
Occupancy Length | Thematic layer indicating the number of years since the most recent sale of each property. In general, the darker the coloring, or higher the bar on the property, the longer time since the most recent sale. |
House Number | The street number of the primary address of the property. |
Last Sale Price | The dollar value of the most recent sale/deed for the properties. |
Some possible map icon layers include:
Foreclosures | Foreclosure icons indicate properties that are currently in pre-foreclosure, foreclosure, set for auction, or that have recently been in one of those categories. |
MLS Listing Data | MLS Listings are common ways of promoting real estate for sale. iMapp includes the possibility of "active" for sale listings and "inactive" listing that are no longer for sale. These possible statuses include: Active - Listings that are currently for sale/rent. Pending - Listings that have received and accepted an offer but have not finalized a sale. Sold - Listings that have completed a sale (or rental contract) Withdrawn - Listings that were listed, but removed without selling (possible reflecting change of plan for owner, change in the market, or change of marketing plans). Expired - Listings that were under contract to be listed for a fixed period, but that did not sell before the end of the listing period. |
Bookmarks | Bookmarks indicate the map locations of any properties that you have set bookmarks for within iMapp. |
