Maps - Selecting Areas On the Map
Select Tool
If you need to search within a specific area that you are interested in (for example, you want to see the results from particular subdivision, city, neighborhood, or region), use the Select tool. You’ll see the possible selection shapes for your desired region(s): freeform (lasso), polygon, rectangle, and circle.
In addition to drawing an area on the map, you can also select areas using Predefined Areas (e.g. zip codes, city boundaries, etc). To use this method, select "areas", and pick the desired Area Layer to pick from. Once this layer is displayed, double click on the region you are interested in, and this region will be added as a search region to the Select interface.
When your desired area is highlighted, the action pop-up appears: click Confirm Selection to confirm the area and run the search. If you do not want to go forward, click Cancel to repeal the selection and switch off “Select” mode. You may also select additional map areas to search in multiple areas simultaneously.
